Kitchen counter

I have this counter in my kitchen that drives me crazy. It is there right as soon as you walk in the front door and so everything hits this counter and develops gravity plopping itself on it to remain glued forever it seems. So I was on youtube looking for something else and came across this "tube" about organizing your kitchen inspiring me :)

After,,, I put 2 cookbooks standing up though as they are too tall to fit in my cupboard. One of them was signed by a REAL CHEF!!! I met her at the Westcoast Christmas Show that we went to over the weekend. Anna Olson. She has a new show called FRESH on Food Network which of course everyone knows is my favorite channel. But her new show is about using local foods to sustain your family minimizing your global footprints, helping your local community and keeping prices down. But like she said, everyone knows what to do with produce all summer but what do you do with squash in January...so her shows/and now her book breaks down the seasons and what is available in that season. Pretty cool! The blue box is to hold my phone charger, the odd bill that comes in etc. Let's see how long it lasts :)

My first priority

My Office should be my first priority but somehow it ends up becoming the drop off point of everything that no one seems to find a spot for and so it gets dumped in there. So I checked out Wal-Mart's online sale and there are a few items I will pick up after Christmas. I may end up not getting them but use what I already have to just change their use :)

But do check out their site for organizational ideas.. there are LOTS.. here is the link to their storage areas. They may not be as fancy as if you went to an expensive store but it fits my budget :)

Let's get Organized BEFORE the Christmas mess

Ok here is your first of many posts on how to organize. My Christmas boxes used to be old boxes that were probably older then I was, duct tape holding them together and every eyar there would be things that would get broken. So one year I decided to not go through it again. Zellers had a sale on storage units and I stoked up. Now everything is neatly packed and I haven't lost a single decoration since.

So check out this site.. if you check out the seasonal storage link on the left side you will find "gift bag" organizer. I have TWO of them and absolutely love them!! There is a spot for your long rolls, area for sheets, ribbons, name tags, scissors, tape etc. I never have to go looking for something to wrap up presents ever since I got it.
